Admission Requirements

(According to the RTO)

CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry allows direct entry at the time of publication on training.gov.au. Noble College of Education requires applicants to meet the following admission requirements to support successful completion of the qualification.

English Language Requirements:

Note: Results older than two years are not acceptable for offshore applicants.

Applicants may also meet the English language requirement through one of the following alternatives:

  • Evidence of study in English for at least five years in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, South Africa, the United Kingdom or the United States.
  • Evidence that, within two years of the application date, the applicant successfully completed in Australia a foundation course, a senior secondary certificate of education, or substantial components (50% or more units according to the training package) of a Certificate IV or higher Australian Qualifications Framework qualification on a student visa.
  • Applicants from student visa assessment level 1 and 2 countries without the required IELTS or equivalent score must undertake the Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital literacy test.

All international students, both onshore and offshore, are required to complete a Pre-Training Review including an LLND assessment to identify training needs, previous education or training, relevant work experience, and course suitability. This assessment may be conducted by video call or phone call.

Students must complete CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry, or equivalent, before any construction site visits.

Other Conditions

Students are expected to dedicate approximately 4 hours per week to guided learning during training weeks, excluding term breaks.

Noble College of Education will provide a PPE kit and safety boots before participation in workshop sessions.

Entry into the workshop without the required PPE and safety boots is not permitted.

Students should have a reasonable level of physical fitness, as practical tasks may involve standing for long periods, repetitive arm and hand movements, and working at heights.

Required PPE for Carpentry

  • Safety boots (steel-capped or composite-toe)
  • High-visibility clothing or vest
  • Safety glasses or goggles
  • Hearing protection such as earplugs or earmuffs
  • Work gloves or cut-resistant gloves
  • Dust mask or respirator (P2 or equivalent)
  • Hard hat
  • Long work pants and a long-sleeved shirt
